The Killaloe Food and Toy Drive has grown yearly since it began in the early 1990s, when we served only a handful of local families.
Last year, (2023), we provided 408 children with toys and gifts, and 106 families with Christmas food hampers. Each year the CRC organizes Angel Wreaths, with the ages and genders of children on paper angels, so that you can pick an angel and purchase a gift for that particular child.
Children up to 18 years of age are included.
Donation cans, boxes, and wreaths are located in businesses and Canada Post outlets across the area served by the program. This area includes Deacon, Round Lake, Killaloe, Barry's Bay, Whitney, Madawaska, Combermere, and Palmer Rapids.
We also organize Christmas food hampers for families in the Killaloe, Hagarty and Richards area. Gifts and food are distributed in a manner that maintains people's dignity, and confidentiality is always key.
Registration for our Food and Toy Drive opens in early November.
